Bahamas Diving Association Launches Web Updates on Dive Operators Affected by Irene
As Hurricane Irene churns toward the U.S., the Bahamas Diving Association (BDA) has launched a special page on their website reporting the status of all of their dive operators affected by the storm.
As of early this afternoon, all of the dive operators who’ve posted updates on the site are reporting only minor damage with no injuries. In addition to the lack of damage, several operators, including those on Bimini, Nassau and multiple live-aboards in the area, report they will be open for business starting as early as this Friday and Saturday.
The BDA plans to issue a full press release on their operators’ status later this afternoon, but to see the latest reports from their members, please visit the Irene update page at www.bahamasdiving.com/irene.html. Stay tuned to Scuba Diving for the latest updates on how Irene is affecting dive sites and operators in the Bahamas and the US East Coast.
