Bonnier Dive Group has appointed Scuba Diving deputy editor Mary Frances Emmons to succeed Patricia Wuest, who is stepping away from dive after 26 years with the magazine, as editor in chief of Scuba Diving, Sport Diver and The Undersea Journal and their associated web sites and video and social channels.

“For our brands, editorial leadership requires subject-matter expertise and a ‘live your brand’ passion that’s reflected in the information and inspiration they create,” says Shawn Bean, editorial director for Bonnier Media. “Divers who can inform and inspire are a rare species. We're lucky that the next generation of editorial leadership in the dive group is already here.” 

During her nine years at Bonnier, Emmons has served as writer, editor, photographer and underwater videographer for Scuba Diving, Sport Diver and The Undersea Journal. As deputy editor, she helped lead the brands into the digital age while never losing sight of Bonnier Corp.’s mission to create the best dive content on Earth.

Scuba Diving managing editor Andy Zunz also has been promoted, to senior editor of Bonnier Dive Group. During his three years at Bonnier, his contributions have run the gamut in print, digital, social, and video.

As a result of these changes, Bonnier Dive Group is seeking a new associate editor, who will be responsible for managing editorial and production workflow and contribute content across all channels. The job is posted here; qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
