Come Dive With Us At The Oregon Coast Aquarium
Ever dream of diving in an aquarium? Now is your chance! And you can do it in a comfortable, warm and dry DUI drysuit system!
DUI has been traveling around the USA providing 150 to 300 divers per weekend the experience of drysuit diving. Locations range from commercial diving school tanks, lakes, quarries and even the ocean. What' makes the Oregon event so unique? Divers actually dive IN the Oregon Coast Aquarium at Newport, Oregon.
This unique event is held August 18-20. Divers book their time in advance with local area participating DUI dealers. When they arrive, they are fitted in a DUI drysuit system of their choice, and then do a "check out" dive with aquarium staff. Once "checked out", they are allowed to dive for up to 30 minutes in Orford Reef or Halibut Flats; two featured aquariums within the "Passages of the Deep" exhibit.
This is the 4th year for this event, and more exciting programs have been added. These include:
Underwater Digital Camera Workshop on Friday, August 18th - Improve the success of your photo dives or learn the basic skills essential to capturing the underwater world using a variety of digital cameras with the industry professionals at Optiquatics.
Reef Ecology Snorkeling Program on Friday August 18th This program includes a one hour ecology presentation from the Oregon Coast Aquarium staff followed by a one hour drysuit snorkel dive in Passages of the Deep.
Sleepover in the Aquarium on Saturday evening August 19th - Experience the aquarium in a whole new way by observing the nocturnal behaviors of the aquarium inhabitants. Sleepover divers will have priority access for the first dives on Sunday morning!
In addition to these programs, all DUI Test Divers will enjoy a free barbecue lunch, raffle prizes and receive a collector's commemorative Test Diver hat! Test divers will also be entered into a drawing to win one of many fantastic dive trips being given away at the end of the year.
