2010 World's Best Diving & Resorts: Kona Aggressor II

The Big Island's black volcanic reefs are home to colorful lionfish, Spanish dancer nudibranchs, turtles, spinner dolphins and majestic manta rays. Lava tubes, bommies, arches and huge craters create a spectacular backdrop for Hawaii's many indigenous species of butterflyfish. The 14-passenger yacht ventures far from the reach of day operators to beautiful South Point, the southernmost tip of Hawaii, weather permitting. Here you may encounter the rare longnose hawkfish, which hides among the black coral. After the sun sets, soaring mantas glide within feet of divers' masks during one of Aggressor's signature night dives. The yacht's lights attract swarms of plankton and hungry mantas.
