Hotel Casa de Gopala and Yucatek Divers in Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya,
are up and running after Hurricane Wilma

The dive/stay specialist in the Riviera Maya suffered hardly any damage during the strong hurricane. The few broken water pipes and two broken windows in the hotel are fixed. Yucatek lost part of the palapa roof on the second floor of the dive center, but the boats came through the storm safe and sound. There's even more fish life in the ocean than there was before the storm, though the reefs need some cleaning. Diving in the cenotes is excellent, as usual. The center of Playa del Carmen is cleaned up, and there is hardly any sign of a storm. On the positive side, Wilma dumped a lot of sand on the beaches and made them very wide. Tourists are enjoying the good food in the restaurants, the shopping on Fifth Avenue and the sun on the beach.
