How To Make a Save-a-Dive Kit
Broken mask straps, worn-out O-rings, torn mouthpieces — these are the last-second disasters that can ruin a dive. If you're unprepared, that is. Make sure you're never caught with your wetsuit down — so to speak — and get prepared with a save-a-dive kit. It will also make you a lot of friends on the dive boat. How to create a save-a-dive dive kit
- Customize your kit with tools and parts you’re mostly to need
- Carry a selection of zip ties
- Small multi-use tools are a must for minor repairs and adjustments
- Stock a few O-rings in the right sizes and types
- Have an O-ring pick and some silicone lube
- (Remember that high O2 gas mixes require special O-rings and lube)
- Keep a replacement for frequently lost or damaged parts (mask strap retainer, hose clip, octo holder)
- Carry a spare battery and O-ring for computer and other electronics
