Kids Sea Camp Confessional: Snorkeling Fun in Yap and Palau

Snorkeling in Yap with Kids Sea Camp

I am 7 years old and I want to tell you about my best summer vacation. I went with my family to Kids Sea Camp Palau for one week and then to Yap for another week for a snorkeling and scuba diving adventure that my mom read about in a magazine called Sport Diver. I’m not old enough to scuba dive yet, but I can snorkel and use the Sassy gear in the ocean. I can’t wait to be able to scuba dive with my family.

Palau was so much fun, we stayed at Palau Royal Resort. The Sam’s Tours instructors were very nice and funny and made me feel safe, it was fun to snorkel over airplanes and coral reefs. They really made me feel special, like a scuba diver but on the surface. I miss them so much. We used Scuba units in the pool, we learned about sharks and snorkeled with them too. We played at the beach and met local kids, we had a treasure hunt, and painted ourselves to look like the Palauan dancers.

I liked Jellyfish Lake and touching a jellyfish that could not sting. That felt like swimming in a bag of marshmallows! Also, I enjoyed being in the water with my mom and dad diving below me. I love being in the water I feel like a little mermaid.

In Yap, I was able to snorkel with baby sharks and big manta rays. It was so much fun to snorkel with my friends Margo and Holly they are diver ladies that enjoyed snorkeling with me. The manta rays and sharks are beautiful; they swim so gracefully in the water and seem so shy.

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in a 100-year-old pirate ship in Yap and saw stone money bigger than me. Kids Sea Camp Yap and Palau were amazing and it was awesome to travel to the other side of the world and meet people just like me, but they live differently, they are friendly people who love kids.

Thank you for having Kids Sea Camp. I can’t wait to go again.
