The action begins when a jet plane crashes in the waters off of Curacao catapulting international news photographer Mike Scott on a chase to figure out who brought down the plane and why. More importantly, he has to save the life of the pilot he rescued from the water and his own life in the process. Oil and Water weaves a story of international intrigue with oil cartels and mercenaries sent to disrupt their plans.
“Stories like this are as much fun to write as they are to read and I really enjoyed writing this story. It has action, misdirection and twists, all in novella length story, perfect for an afternoon at the pool or on the beach. Readers can imagine they’re right beside Mike Scott as he tries to understand who is pulling the strings,” Douglas says.
Mike Scott is the primary character in a series of thriller novels and short stories. Scott is an international news photographer who has a knack for finding major stories around the world. Every story features beautiful locations, excitement and adventure, and scuba diving. The novels include: Cayman Cowboys, Flooding Hollywood, Guardians’ Keep, Wreck of the Huron, Heart of the Maya and Return to Cayman. Mike Scott is also in the short stories Queen Conch and Land Sharks.
Douglas has a degree in Journalism from Marshall University and has worked in the recreational scuba diving industry for nearly 20 years. That experience has given him the opportunity to travel the world and experience the places he takes his readers.
