Puerto Rico Underwater Treasure Hunt Winners
The Puerto Rico Tourism Company (www.gotopuertorico) and Scuba Diving magazine offer their congratulations to the winners of the first Puerto Rico Underwater Treasure Hunt. The event was held June 21-26, 2007, in La Parguera, Porta Del Sol.

First Place: Jofi & Greta Baldrich, aka "The Puerto Rican Connection" with 22,500 points.

Second Place (tie): Joe Samplin and Michelle Samplin-Salgado aka "The Fighting Mojitos," and Andrew & Melissa Vieth, aka, "Resuce 911," both with 12,000 points.

Third Place: Jill Schisler & Jana Wise, aka "The Diving Divas," with 10,500 points.

Fourth Place: Juan Hernandez & Monica Morgado, aka "Rum Punch," with 10,000 points.
Dive packages for the event were offered through Caradonna Dive Adventures and included a free Henderson Dive Skin to the first 10 bookings. The event encompassed exciting activities under and above water, starting with a Welcome Reception at Copamarina Beach Resort, including with free cocktails and snacks courtesy of Puerto Rico Tourism Co.
While enjoying the reefs and walls on the Southwest corner of Puerto Rico, dive teams from across the country competed to find hidden pirate coins and treasure chests that were redeemed for points and valuable prizes, including free stays at Copamarina Beach Resort, Tusa snorkeling sets, PADI backpacks, Puerto Rico Rum Baskets, SeaLife underwater cameras, free Avis car rentals, exotic day trips with Acampa Tours and other prizes.

The treasure hunt dives were organized by Scuba Dogs and conducted by Parguera Divers, and included visits to famous sites on the Parguera Wall, including Black Wall, Efra's Wall and The Forrest.
Participants were also the guests of honor at a pirate-themed farewell party sponsored by Serralles Distilleries and celebrating the traditional Night of San Juan.
Event sponsors included Henderson Dive Wear, SeaLife Cameras, Caradonna Dive Adventures, Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Tilos, TUSA and Scuba Diving magazine.
