60:Second ScubaLab: Innovative Scuba Concepts Bladefish 5000

The Bladefish Seajet 5000 is a sleek new way to fly underwater. Traditional DPVs are big and cumbersome, but the Lithium Ion battery powered Bladefish, measuring a mere 13 inches in diameter and weighing only ten and a half pounds, is the only DPV you can actually pack in a suitcase and travel with. ScubaLab test runs showed that the three speed 18 volt electric motor is powerful enough to whisk you through the water at over three miles per hour. Yet it’s small enough to clip to a BC D-ring if you want to slow down for some close-quarters exploring. The rig is slightly negatively buoyant, which is what you want, and comes with a pair of soft-grip handles and dual activation levers so it’s easy to control. The sealed, rechargeable Lithium Ion battery provides up to 120 minutes of run time, and a set of LED lights allow you to monitor the state of charge while cruising the depths. The bottom line: the Bladefish Seajet 5000 is a great alternative to traditional DPVs. Powerful enough to cover a lot of ground when you need to, and small enough to almost forget about when you don’t. Click here for more information.
