Scuba Diving's 2022 Readers Choice Awards Rank the World's Best Diving
It’s one of our favorite times of year: a time for daydreaming of far-off dive travel destinations—and if we’re lucky, making trip plans. It’s time to announce our annual World’s Best Diving, Resorts and Liveaboards! These are the top operators and destinations for any type of diving you can think of, as chosen by our well-traveled readers.
This year’s awards are a little different. With pandemic travel restrictions preventing readers from visiting some of their favorite spots for almost the entirety of the past two years, survey respondents found they had relatively little to vote on. That’s why, rather than listing the winners solely from our 2022 survey, we averaged reader-submitted data from the past three surveys (2020, 2021 and 2022)—totaling 14,043 responses—to try to give you an idea of not only which dive operators, liveaboards and resorts have been exceeding divers’ expectations during the pandemic, but which ones are poised to bring back that level of excellence once steady travel returns to their particular destination. All this is to say that even at a time when global travel has been disrupted, you won’t find any shortage of inspiration in our 29th Readers Choice awards for when dive travel gets fully back on track again.
