Amoray Dive Resort
You’ll begin a love affair with Amoray’s Dive Resort as soon as you pull into its entrance on the legendary Overseas Highway, which connects the islands of the Florida Keys. What makes this resort so special? Maybe it’s the swaying coconut palm trees and quaint thatched tiki huts. Or it could be the soft sand beach where you can view the evening’s sunset. Or perhaps it’s because this postcard-pretty resort is within minutes of the colorful coral reefs off the shores of “America’s Caribbean.”
James FerraraA stay at Amoray Dive Resort is anything but average. Purpose-built for diving, yet thoughtfully designed for ultimate relaxation.
The vision of the resort’s founder, Amy Slate, was to infuse Amoray with a bit of romance and a fun-filled vibe that reflected the Key Largo community. Today, Amoray Dive Resort has been expanded, fully renovated and improved, with a forward-thinking approach to the property, facilities, dive offerings and conservation efforts, while still retaining its romantic appeal.
Amoray Dive Resort and Amoray Dive Center, its on-site dive operation, earned seven first-place spots in this year’s Readers Choice awards—more than any other U.S. dive resort. It’s an honor that’s well deserved.
Amoray is a tropical hideaway with 30 pristine rooms, including ones with sunny decks and tranquil views of Blackwater Sound, suites with a full kitchen or kitchenette, a two-bedroom bayside suite and rooms with garden views.

The rooms are just steps away from the full-service Amoray Dive Center. The staff is a big reason the dive operation enjoys a number of repeat guests. Amoray prides itself on its safety record, as well as a personal, attentive in-water experience with dive professionals leading divers on reefs and wrecks, where the marine life is astonishing—it’s common to encounter eagle rays, turtles and tropical reef fish on every dive. All guided dives are restricted to four guests per divemaster. The dive sites include Elbow Reef, Molasses Reef, the Benwood wreck and the photogenic Christ of the Abyss statue. The 45-foot catamaran is spacious and can often accommodate snorkelers. Non-divers can also enjoy the pool and have free use of bicycles and kayaks to explore local trails and mangroves.
In addition to being a PADI Five Star Dive Resort, Amoray is one of the only PADI Eco Centers in Key Largo, earning that distinction for its dedication to conservation and dive industry sustainability. Through the Adopt the Blue and Dive Against Debris programs, Amoray Dive Resort is actively engaged in conservation activities, including citizen science, policy advocacy and education. The resort also supports the coral restoration activities of I.CARE.
Key Largo is a diver’s paradise, and the team at Amoray Dive Resort can’t wait to share their passion for this special place with you.

It’s a Coral Affair
On the first and third Saturday every month, join Amoray Dive Resort as it participates in I.CARE coral restoration and monitoring events. You will make two dives to transplant coral, maintain the reef, remove snails and algae from their sites, and monitor previously transplanted corals.
It’s a Land-Based Affair
The Amoray team can also help plan topside experiences, including a Key West excursion, sunset cruise and eco-tours focusing on dolphins, birds or manatees. You can even join a trip to the Everglades to see Florida’s biggest wetlands national park.
