Beginning 1 January 2007, PADI's new dive accident insurance provider will be Divers Alert Network, also known as DAN. PADI's alliance with DAN allows us to offer outstanding insurance coverage to divers while simultaneously supporting the dive industry.

In addition to providing dive accident insurance and assistance, DAN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that underwrites research, education and training programs to improve diver safety. DAN developed the first dive accident insurance program nearly twenty years ago and continues to operate diving's only 24-hour emergency hotline.
