Putting on the Ritz

I had the pleasure of staying at the new Ritz Carlton hotel on Grand Cayman. As hotels go this is nice, the staff is a bit over the top with the thank you's and how can I help you. Now as for the diving, I learned very quickly that you should book your own dive trip and contact outside the hotel the costs will be half if not better. I booked with Don Foster's on Grand Cayman for an Afternoon dive. (take the morning trip). Great people, reasonable prices and they will pick you up at your hotel for about half what my hotel wanted from Red Sail. I have a feeling the hotel was making a large chunk of change for sending you to Red Sail. I called Red Sail directly and found they charged a pretty penny on their own but still no where as high as the hotel. Again, I must say that Don Foster's was top notch, everyone was very friendly and we went to a fairly good (not great) spot in about 15 minutes. Hey I was on a business trip and did not have much time but I never leave my gear at home. So look up Don Foster's if you are on Grand Cayman they are on the web or in the Cayman yellow pages. Oh and if you do stay at the Ritz Carlton, Go outside for breakfast. Spend the money on a cab and go to Coconuts. It's still cheaper and the food was much better than that factory food.
