Sea Heroes Terms and Conditions
The Sea Heroes Competition (the “Competition”) is sponsored by Scuba Diving magazine, a publication of Bonnier Corporation (“Bonnier”) and Oris SA Hölstein (“Oris”).
All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply; void where prohibited. PRIZES MAY BE SUBJECT TO TAX; ALL APPLICABLE TAXES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.
- NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE CHANCES OF WINNING. Entrants may nominate themselves or another eligible person. Nominees will be given the opportunity to accept or decline their nomination; if they decline, they will become ineligible to participate in the Competition or win but, if they accept, they shall be subject to all of these Official Rules. The Competition is not open to Entrants who are residents of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, the province of Quebec, Sudan, Syria, and any other jurisdiction where this competition is prohibited. Employees of Bonnier Corporation, Oris SA Hölstein, their advertising agencies and their parent companies, subsidiaries or agents, their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse and grandparents) and those domiciled with any of the foregoing are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
- To enter, visit www.scubadiving.com/seaheroes, and complete the online entry form provided. When filling out the Entry form, include the name of the Nominee, a description of the Nominee’s project, and full contact information for the Nominee. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on the last day of each month in order for the Nominee to be eligible for that month’s Prize.
- Each month, a potential Sea Hero will be chosen from among the Nominees by a panel of Scuba Diving editors, based on each Nominee’s commitment and the potential growth and impact of the Nominee’s project. The decisions of the judges are final. Each potential Sea Hero must sign an affidavit of eligibility and publicity release, which must be returned to Bonnier within seven days of notification attempt, or an alternate Sea Hero will be selected. Each Sea Hero will win an Oris TTI Diver’s Date watch valued at $1,595.00. Each Sea Hero from the July 2016 issue through the January/February 2017 issue of Scuba Diving is also automatically eligible to win the Grand Prize. Any nominations received after the date of eligibility for any award will automatically be entered for subsequent consideration.
- On or about January 1, 2017, a panel of Scuba Diving editors will select one Grand Prize Winner from among the 2016-17 Sea Heroes, based on the aforementioned criteria. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a grand prize of Five Thousand United States Dollars ($5,000).
- Winners are responsible for all taxes or other costs associated with transferring and/or winning of any prize. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be substituted.
- Entry and acceptance of prizes constitutes permission to Bonnier, Oris and their designees to use the name, address, testimonial, hometown, project description, and photos/images of the Sea Heroes, and photo subjects for publication, advertising, and promotion throughout the world in all media, now or hereafter known in perpetuity, without further compensation.
- Nominators represent and warrant that submitted nominations are original works and do not infringe the rights of any third parties. All materials submitted become the sole property of Bonnier and will not be returned. Bonnier, Oris and each of their advertising agencies, and any of the aforementioned entities’ parents, subsidiaries, operating divisions, and affiliates, will not have any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any property loss, damage, personal injury, or death in connection with the prizes provided pursuant to the Competition and/or any person’s participation in the Competition. By accepting any prizes, winning Sea Heroes agree to hold Bonnier, Oris, and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prizes.
- The grand prize will only be delivered in United States Dollars, and will be delivered to the winner subject to the laws of the United States and the winner’s country of residence.
- Bonnier and Oris will not be responsible for delays in delivery of the prizes, and delivery is subject to availability. Prize recipients shall bear all risk of loss or damage to prizes after delivery.
