This Roatan resort lives up to its namesake. Tranquilseas’ laid back, peaceful atmosphere envelops you—you’re immediately right at home. Palm fronds wave in the island breeze toward flat, tide-lapped beaches, perfect for evening strolls. The resort’s new “sky deck” yoga studio overlooks this tropical vista. The state-of-the-art structure’s open-air design mean aspiring yogis can enjoy a gentle ocean breeze as they practice their downward facing dog. The resort is perched on Roatan’s north side, guaranteeing guests front row seats to the most splendid sunsets on the island.
Tranquilseas Eco Lodge and Dive CenterTranquilseas offers seven different lodging options.
Eco-lodges like Tranquilseas do whatever they can to keep their properties “green,” installing solar panels, using energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances, and teaching guests how to reduce their energy footprint. TripAdvisor, Green Key, Eco Companion, EcoScore, PADI and Luxury Travel Guide all recognize the resort’s excellence in ecotourism. As proud silver-level members of the Roatan Marine Park, they support the enduring protection of local reefs for future generations to enjoy.
And as many Caribbean travelers will attest, Roatan’s coastal waters are a diver’s delight. Tranquilseas just happens to border some of Roatan’s most renowned reefs and dive sites. The world’s second largest barrier reef system beckons only a hundred yards from the eco lodge’s botanical gardens. Two custom boats ferry divers to reefs and other underwater spectacles on a daily basis.

Nearby hotspots like West End, West Bay, Coxen Hole and Mary’s Place are bustling with marine life of every stripe and size. Lobsters, crab, spotted eagle rays and other pelagic species meander among the corals, with the occasional reef shark coming to visit. Divers can also swim around and through the hauntingly beautiful El Aguila wreck, resting 110 feet below on the ocean floor.
