The Andrea Doria
Doria Links
Virtual Museum
See the luxurious lounges, dining halls and cabins of the Andrea Doria, the preserved artifacts and those who recovered them in an extensive photo gallery compiled by John Moyer, who owns the salvage rights, and his Atlantic Wreck Divers club buddies. www.uwex.us/andreadoria.htm
Captain's Choice
Dan Crowell, former owner and captain of the Seeker, has a loving tribute to the glory days of diving the Andrea Doria. It is packed with photos on and inside the wreck, and posts first-hand accounts by the adventurers who created technical diving to explore it. The Doria is one of dozens of northeast wrecks on the New Jersey Scuba site maintained by Steve Nagiewicz, captain of the Deep Diversion II. www.njscuba.net/sites/site_andrea_doria.html
A Survivor's Tale
Anthony Grillo was three years old when his mother dropped him over the side of the Andrea Doria and he landed in a blanket on a waiting lifeboat. Over the years he created an extensive scrapbook of pictures and stories of the ships, the collision and its victims. Since his death in 2004, the site has been maintained by Anthony's sister, Vivian, with assistance of the National Nautical Research Group Inc. www.andreadoria.org
Great Ocean Liners
The Andrea Doria is among the world-famous passenger ships to be extensively profiled by Daniel Othfors, who's been fascinated by ocean liners since he was teenager in his native Sweden. The site covers great ships from the 1830s to the 1960s divided in 10-year intervals. [www.greatoceanliners.net/andreadoria.html
