Whale Sharks

Hello Folks, The whale shark season is about to start. I would suggest this trip to everyone who loves marine life like me. It is such an incredible experience (the best of my life I would say). I have been vacationing in Cozumel for 20 years, I really love that place. Now I have got one more reason that will drive me there: The whale sharks. Because you dont have to lose but one single day of diving and what I'm I saying it's not losing it's just trading one single day of diving for one day of incredible snorkeling: What A way to offgas!!! This is an amazing experience; you have the chance to swim alongside the biggest fish in the world.

I discovered this trip two years ago while I was having my regular diving trip in Cozumel. I got to know Cinzia a very professional underwater videographer who works in one of my favorite dive operations: Aqua Safari. Besides videography she organizes trips to see the whale Sharks in Holbox. After I spoke to her I was so excited that I immediately decided to take the chance. I AM NOW SO HAPPY I DID IT! She offered a V.I.P. service for a reasonable price....I even got a video on top of it!!!!!

We took an A/C van to Holbox which is a beautiful little fishermen island located in the west part of the Yucatan peninsula. Everything was organized by Cinzia (transportation, hotel, Whale Shark snorkeling trip). We had a good sleep in a nice ocean front room and early in the morning we finally took the fast boat that took us to the spot in the middle of the ocean; don't forget to bring sun tan with you! That day we saw dolphins, manta rays and at least 20 whale sharks. I was swimming very close to them. They are right at the surface eating plankton and they dont mind if you swim beside them. Cinzia was in the boat getting good shots of me swimming with these great giants of the sea. My nephew and grandson watch that video every week!!!

If you are a Cozumel regular, don't lose this opportunity. You have the chance to see this big fish just for a couple of months per year (from End of July to September). I am already preparing my snorkeling bag!! If you want further information I would suggest you email directly Cinzia at [email protected] she will email you back with pictures and details of the trip.
