Two formations, one incredible site: Steve’s Cave and Wash Rock deliver an impressive Hawaiian dive.
Steve’s Cave is a large lava tube running through a gorgeous Pacific pinnacle. Freedivers and scuba divers alike enjoy it. Lobster, eels, sponge crab, big eye squirrel fish and tons of Menpuchi meander through the tunnel. Octopi and spotted eagle rays can be seen across the sand flat, and frog fish nestle with leaf scorpion fish atop the tube’s pinnacle.

Wash Rock, named for the swelling “wash” during low tide, shoots up an awe-inspiring 50 feet from the ocean floor breaking the surface. The caverns and crevices surrounding this pinnacle delight divers with resting white tip sharks during the day — and gliding, splendid reef sharks at night. Beautiful schools of pennant butterfly fish circle its base. Brilliantly colored coral blooms crown the pinnacle, reaching nearly four feet from the ocean surface and making for an unforgettable ocean vista.
