Mares Carbon 42 Regulator

Advanced technology, unbeatable reliability, and extremely light weight. That's what divers have wanted in a regulator for years. Mares can offer you all of this with the Carbon 42, the first regulator made of carbon fibers.

With the Carbon 42, light weight blends with technology. In fact, in this regulator divers will find all the technology used in Mares regulators.

The most compact Mares high-performance first stage must be used with an exceptional second stage to become a truly great regulator. That is why Mares has created "Carbon" second stage. This second stage is made using the new SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) technology that makes it possible to create pieces with complex shapes using carbon composite. The materials used to create the special carbon composite used in manufacturing the Carbon second stage guarantee a high level of mechanical resistance by maintaining the physical, chemical and thermal characteristics unchanged, even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures and when used in corrosive environments.

The second stage case is thus 65% lighter than the same versions in metal, and more than 30% lighter than one made of technopolymer, but it still ensures superior performance.

But that's not all. The revolutionary cover of the second stage also features the Mesh Grid system, which thanks to the "grid" hellps reduce the impact of the water flow over the diaphragm, preventing bothersome free flows when entering a current ... and no adjustments are necessary.

Besides an incredibly durable material, carbon is also an exceptional conductor of heat. This characteristic reduces the temperature drop, thereby reducing the chance of icing in the moving parts of the second stage, which makes it suitable for dives in especially cold water.

And with all of these features, the perfect finishing touch is of course a brand new "superflex" hose. It's softer and 30% lighter than rubber versions, and passed all the rigorous tests at Mares. Along with the new hose cover, with its functional and attractive design, it will make your dives pleasantly comfortable.
