Scuba App Review: Fishdom HD
SCUBA DIVING APP REVIEWS
Fishdom HD
****Version: 1.0.1 or 1.0.4
Price: Free or $6.99
Platform: iPad only
Description: Fishdom HD is a virtual fish tank game. By solving simple immersive puzzles, similar to Bejeweled, you earn virtual cash to build your aquarium. Build aquariums with different themes, fish, accessories and more.
Pros: Easy-to-use app with great graphics. Loads of fun when you can’t go diving. Tons of options and customization.
Cons: Free version is a tease — within the game you can only build three tanks, which flies by fast once you get into it. This app only has one type of game play to earn your virtual cash and can become a bit monotonous trying to earn more virtual cash.
Bottom Line: My girlfriend and I were having fun with the free version of this app and it instantly got us hook line and sinker. With a game play similar to the Sims, you play levels on this game to earn virtual cash and build your ultimate fish tank. (Unlike having the real fish tank in your house, it’s a lot less maintenance and you don’t have spilt water all over the floor.) Just like the Sims though, don’t spend all your money on fish or they won’t be happy without food and filters. It’s got great game play and nice graphics. I can see why it has won so many awards and is a definite keeper on my iPad for something to do when I’m not out diving.
